Description
Innovative Victorian perfume and vinaigrette. Made by Samson Mordan in England, ca 1870. Clear glass oval bottle comprising two joined parts with vertical partition. Silver gilt oval neck with hinged and split cover. On top is the name Alice in cobalt blue enamel letters. At bottom, silver gilt oval mount with hinged ornamental grill and plain cover. Top and bottom encircled with lapis lazuli beads. In leather-bound case with velvet. Interlaced gilt-metal monogram applied to case cover. Maker's stamp.Dimensions: Bottle: H 3 5/8 x W 2 x D 1 in.
