    All silver trim we offer is hand engraved and then caped/overlay with nickel. Do not confuse overlay with inexpensive silver plating, which can peel and can be easily damaged with cleaning. Trim pieces with gold accents are high quality jewelers bronze overlay.
    Finally, all trim is coated with a tarnish preventive which lasts approximately a year depending environmental factors.
