Despite its defects this is a lovely sounding maple recorder made by Fehr, one of the very best recorder companies.  It speaks easily, has strong low notes and a bright upper register.  For playing alone it is a superior instrument for the price.  For playing with others the top joint can be pulled out but this is not an optimal solution to its sharpness.  The crack in the foot joint does not extend through the wall, so is not consequential.  Other physical defects are cosmetic and do not affect playability.
