ENGLISH REGENCY STERLING SILVER SALVERMADE BY KITCHEN, WALKER, & CURR 1833
Pleased to offer this excellent example of Regency silver (William IV) in a classic 18th century circular style with shell and scalloped border. The partnership of Kitchen, Walker & Curr only last 1 year (1832-1833) so, it is very rare to see any pieces made by this makers mark.
The salver is 8 inches wide, and stands of three large knuckle feet resulting in a height of over an inch tall. The tray is made from a heavy gauge of silver resulting in a weight of 495 grams. The thick shell motif border opens to a large circular field displaying a hand engraved floral and acanthus leaf pattern, leaving a center blank cartouche with the original owners initials of GMK.
Clearly punched with the makers mark of KW over & C within a square, for
Kitchen, Walker & Curr, lion passant for assayed English silver, City mark of a crown for Sheffield and date letter of "l" from 1832, and regents head for William IV.
