    Description

Presented is a fine old Irish sterling silver double handled trophy cup. This piece dates to the 1730s-1750s, and was probably made by Andrew Goodwin. The trophy cup is very well made from thick, sturdy silver, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. There is an old monogram of E*P and an old monogram of H on the underside of the base, but no monograms on the sides of the cup, so it could easily be inscribed and presented. A fabulous piece of old Irish silver, this represents a geat opportunity for any collector.
This piece is in great overall condition. There has been a monogram removal to the side of the cup, but this is extremely hard to notice and the silver is still quite thick. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monograms, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the Hibernia mark for sterling silver, the harp crowned for the city of Dublin, and a maker's mark of AG probably for Andrew Goodwin.
The cup stands about 6 1/4 inches tall and measures about 9 1/4 inches from handle to handle.
The cup weighs 568 grams or 20 regular ounces.
